Pirate Heating Supplies is the online trading name of Mid Wales Plumbing & Heating Supplies Limited, a family‑run business founded in January 2014 by Richard and Diane Burrows. From our base in the heart of Mid Wales, we’ve spent more than a decade building a reputation as one of the UK’s most trusted online specialists for high‑quality heating products.
Our journey began with a focus on smart heating controls, where we quickly became the UK’s leading online supplier of Honeywell Home’s evohome range. That specialist expertise shaped the standards we continue to uphold today. As our business evolved, we brought everything under one brand — Pirate Heating Supplies — allowing us to focus on delivering a clearer, stronger, and more streamlined experience for our customers.
We specialise in products we know inside out, working closely with respected manufacturers to make buying online simple and reliable. This specialist approach means our customers always receive the right product for their heating needs, whether they’re upgrading to smart controls, improving system efficiency, or sourcing essential boiler components.

The INTERGAS Shop specialises in all things Intergas! Find the complete range of Intergas products, including Boilers, Heat Pumps (Inc. Hybrids) and Cylinders.
Our first website, “The EVOHOME Shop” was rebranded in 2018 when we expanded our smart thermostat range beyond just selling Honeywell evohome.
BEYOND PRODUCT SALES
We’re known for supplying high‑quality heating products — but our contribution to the industry goes far beyond retail.
In 2017, we established our own training academy dedicated to OpenTherm modulation controls. Since then, we’ve trained some of the UK’s most forward‑thinking heating engineers in advanced installation methods designed to maximise boiler efficiency. If you’ve heard of X‑Plan, you’ve already seen our work. We invented and developed this control method, and later gifted it to the wider industry as a reliable way to manage zone valves for PDHW boilers using external controls.
Our expertise has also been recognised at national level. In 2019, BEAMA invited us to act as their modulation‑controls expert for testing at Salford University’s Energy House 1.0 — a partnership that continues today. We remain actively involved in ongoing research, including current heat pump testing programmes at Energy House 1.0.
By 2024, we expanded our commitment to installer development by launching manufacturer‑led training courses at our warehouse in Newtown, Powys. This has given local installers access to high‑quality training without the long travel times typically required to reach manufacturer facilities.
