Mid Wales Plumbing & Heating Supplies Limited was founded in January 2014 by directors Richard & Diane Burrows. We operate a trade counter in Newtown, Powys, but we are known UK-wide for the three specialist online stores we manage: Pirate Heating Supplies (est. 2025), The Intergas Shop (est. 2017), and The Smart Thermostat Shop (est. 2014).
The specialist nature of our online shops means we are the best at what we do. Focusing on products we know and love ourselves, we work very closely with the manufacturers we support to make buying online easy. This means our customers always receive the right product for their heating needs, regardless of how diverse these requirements may be.

Launched in 2025, our Pirate Heating Supplies website gives a memorable experience to shopping for quality heating supplies online… Arrrggghhh!
The INTERGAS Shop specialises in all things Intergas! Find the complete range of Intergas products, including Boilers, Heat Pumps (Inc. Hybrids) and Cylinders.
Our first website, “The EVOHOME Shop” was rebranded in 2018 when we expanded our smart thermostat range beyond just selling Honeywell evohome.
BEYOND PRODUCT SALES
Mid Wales Plumbing & Heating Supplies are renowned for selling the best product solutions for our customers, but we are so much more than this.
In 2017, we set up our training academy on OpenTherm modulation controls, and we’ve taught some of the best installers in the industry more efficient boiler installation methods to maximise efficiency. If you’ve heard of ‘X Plan’, we developed this! We eventually gifted X Plan to the heating industry as a method of controlling zone valves for PDHW boilers using external controls.
Salford University has also called upon our knowledge of modulation controls. In 2019, BEAMA asked us to be their expert for modulation controls tests at Energy House 1.0. This is still a relationship we have today, and we are currently involved with heat pump testing at Energy House 1.0.
Fast forward to 2024, and we started our first manufacturer’s training courses here at our warehouse in Newtown. This saves local installers from having to spend hours travelling to manufacturers’ facilities remotely from Mid Wales.
